Linlithgow Palace sits on a small hill overlooking Linlithgow loch it is a truly beautiful place with walks all around the Loch where you can find many different views of the Palace. Mary Queen of Scots was born at the Palace way back in 1542. The name "Linlithgow" means "the loch in the damp hollow".
